Mahmoud
Reda The father of oriental dance in Egypt.
Mahmoud Reda is a pioneer of dance theatre in Egypt,
Soloist, choreographer and
director of hundreds of productions
Many of todays famous
Egyptian dancers started their careers
in the Mahmoud Reda Ensemble as
folklore dancers in The Reda Troupe.
He founded the first Reda Troupe Ensamble in 1956
which now has presented
more
than 300 shows over the whole world.
Mahmoud Reda has been largely responsible for
introducing oriental dance to the world by bringing it to the international
scenes.
In 1999 he was honored by
the International Dance Committee of Unesco
and in 2001 was given the title of dance personality
of the year
at The International Middle Eastern Dance Conference.
He performed on the world's most prestigious
stages such as Carnegie
Hall (NY, USA), Albert Hall
(London, UK), Congress Hall (Berlin, Germany),
Stanislavsky & Gorky Theaters (Moscow, USSR),
Olympia (Paris, France)
and the United Nations
(NY & Geneva).
The Reda Troupe has performed
for many world leaders and Heads of states.
Mr. Reda received Egypt's
Order of Arts and Science in 1967,
The Star of Jordan in 1965 and the
Order of Tunisia in 1973.
In 1999, he was honored by the
International
Dance Committee/Unesco and in
May 2001.
by the International Conference
on Middle Eastern Dance
A participant in the Olympic Games in Helsinki
in 1952,
Mahmoud Reda represented
Egypt in gymnastics after winning
a gold medal in free exercise at the Arab Countries
Championships Alexandria
in 1950.
Mahmoud Reda holds a degree in commerce from the University
of Cairo.
From 1982 to 1990 he was
Under-Secretary of State in the Ministry
of Culture.

FARIDA FAHMY
Farida Fahmy was Reda's principal
female dancer from 1959-1983
and has through the years danced in a number of films.
Farida Fahmy, Mahmoud Reda and
his brother Ali Reda (Farida's late husband), formed the first Egyptian
dance company The Reda Troupe to record Egyptian folk songs
and dances and perform them on stage.
Farida performed in over 50 countries with the Reda Troupe ,
Farida Fahmy played a major role
in elevating dance into a fine art in Egypt.
She was rewarded by President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1967
with the order of Arts and Science of the first degree ,
by King Hussein of Jordan with the Star of Jordan in 1965 ,
and by President Bourguiba of Tunisia in 1973.
She is an accomplished choreographer in both Oriental and Folkloric styles around the world.
She dedicated her whole life to the oriental dance.
For the Egyptians she is symbol of grace and a tribute to the oriental dance as an Art form.

PROF.DR.HASSAN KHALIL
Hassan Khalil is professor and head of department acting
and directing in the Academy of dramatic arts in Cairo,
since 1981 in Kuwait He is not only specialist for Egyptian folklore,
also in the field of folklore of the Gulf he is very well know.
He was the first who did studies about the folklore dances of Egypt like Nuba,
Hagallah, Port Said and more. In all this years he worked also in the field of theatre / drama
. He is a big regisseur at theatre, musical-theatre, operette and opera for many times.
He directed more than 72 dramatic plays and more than 40 operettes in Egypt
Hassan was professor at the High Academy for ballett in Cairo,
to teach ballett-regie and national dances. He also was consultant of the ministry of information.
He was the general director of the Um Kalzoum theatre in Cairo,
generalsupervisor for folklore in the ministry of culture,
And member of the high council for sience and art in Cairo.
Since 1967 Prof. Khalil has got the first class decoration of Egypt for sience and art
Many times he did festivals for the national days of several Arabian countries.
He did these festivals in hugh theatres or sport-stadiums with more than 1000 actors on the stage.
For this big work Prof. Khalil got a lot of honours of kings and presidents.
Hassan lived in the time of the great oriental dancers
In 1986 Dietlinde Karkutli invited him to come to Germany to teach oriental dance.
Since this time he has come to Europe to teach in the time between the semesters
of the university and to give his love for the oriental dance to all dancers of the world.

IBRAHIM
Dawlat Ibrahim is one of the most
famous Choreographers
in Egypt.
She was a trainer and Choreographer
for the Khaomeya Troupe in Egypt.
She started 1963 in The Khaomeya
Troupe and later on she became a
Choreographer and
Dance Teacher for many famous dancers in Egypts
as:
Fifi Abdo, Nagwa Fuad, Dina, Zizi Mostafa, Hala Zafy,
Sahar Hamdi, Samya Hamada and she was also helping many famous
egyptian
actors in film and Theater with their
dance scenes. She
also travelled to many Countries
for teaching. We are very proud
to
present Dawlat Ibrahim for the first time in Egypt as a
Teacher in
a dance festival for foreign dancers.

RAMEZ
Nevein Rames
is one of the Trainers for the Reda Troupe
She has been dancing
and teaching Egyptian folklore
dances for 30 years and was recently working
as the general manager for the Reda Troupe.
Nevein Ramez has been traveling teaching
and performing all over the world.

Yousry
Sharif is internationally celebrated as a

contemporary dance elements from
the ethnic flamenco, jazz,

He is one of the few contemporary artists

FARUK MUSTAFA
Faruk Mustafa is an Egyptian teacher and choreographer
of Egyptian folklore dance.
He started as a dancer in the Reda Troupe.
And was dancing with them for many years.
He has also been participating in many Egyptian films as
a dancer but also as an actor.
Faruk traveled all around the world as a performer and teacher.
Now he is living in Egypt.
He is teaching private and giving workshops.

AIDA
NOUR
Aida Nour is originally from
Alexandria in Egypt.
She started her dance career as
a young dancer in the Alexandria
Troupe.
She was performing Egyptian Folklore Dances and solo Dances
for many
years with them. After many years of touring with the
Alexandria Troupe, Aida moved to Cairo where she became
a member
of the famous Reda Troupe for many years.
Aida began to perform as a solo dancer
later on and her success
was big!
She performed as one of the most famous dancers in Egypt in many
of
Cairo's five star Hotels and Nightclubs, now she is traveling
world wide to teach oriental dance.
Aida Nour is is also famous for
her designes of oriental dance costumes.
She is one of the
Co-Organizers of the Nile Group.

FREIZ SAYED
Freiz started to dance as a folklore dancer in the
famous Kaomeya Troupe "The National Folklore Ensemble in Egypt."
The Troupe was traveling all the world representing Egypt.
Freiz was considered one of the best dancers in the Kaomeya troupe.
The media and the audience often compared her artistic quality,
feeling and her looks with the famous dancer Naima Akef.
After her time as a dancer in the Kaomeya Troupe she became one of the
teachers of Kaomeya.
Freiz is now teaching oriental dance in Cairo
and abroad, she was recently in Sweden and Mosqva for workshops.
Freiz is a very humorous and generous personality and is spreading
joy and happiness around her.
She is one of the Co-Organizers of the
Nile Group since the start year 2005.

LUBNA EMAM
Lubna Emam from Cairo in Egypt,
she started to dance
oriental dance only nine years old
in
the Egyptian Kaomeya School troupe.
She has been traveling all the world
most of her life,performing with
the
Kaomeya Troupe and other groups.
Lubna has also been working
with the famous belly dancer Nagwa Fuad.
When she some years ago returned back to Egypt,
she stopped to perform
and started
to teach Oriental Dance for Egyptian dancers
and foreign dancers.
Now she is traveling everywhere in the world Teaching
Classical Oriental Dances and Egyptian Folklore Dances.
Lubna has a very distinkt style with very powerful "heavy"
movements, she is specially appreciated
for her interprentation of the Saiidi
Style.

AIDA RIAD
Aida Riad is born in Cairo.
She started her career as a dancer
in the national Khaomeya folkloric troup
and later on she became the solo dancer of the troup.
She then started a career in acting debuting in the film
"Abo Al Banat" (father of the girls) in 1980.
Riad has acted extensively on stage and TV since then.
Aida Riad is cast in the series “Qandil El Liel”
written by Mohamed Hassan and directed by Reda el Nagar.
She was earlier married to the famous singer
Moharam Fouad of “Hassan we Naima” fame.
She is now a famous actress in Egypt and Middle east and she
is often dancing in her movies.
Our regular guests in the Nile Group have surely
seen her on the stage “in private” many times
at the Nile Group festivals, as she´s often been a
guest of honour in the Nile Group.
Now we welcome her as a teacher for the first time
in the Nile Group festival in April 2007.

Camelia is one of the most famous stars in Cairo!
She started her career as a folklore dancer ten years ago.
Lately she turned to dance the oriental
classical "sharqi" dance style and is
at the moment one of
the most famous
and popular bellydancers in Egypt.
She is currently working at many five Star Hotels in Cairo.
Camelia is dancing with a never ending
energy and her show is breath
taking.
She is giving workshops in Egypt and aboad.

EL LEISY
Magdy
El Leisy is originaly from Egypt but currently
living and working in Germany.
Magdy has a background as a dancer of
classical Ballet at the Cairo
Opera
where he performed in many different ballets,
traveling to many different
countries.
In 1994 Magdy gave up his career in Ballet and turned to
Egyptian Folklore and oriental dance.
Nowadays he travels the world
as a very popular dance teacher,
artist and choreographer.
He has his own dance group in Germany
called "El Leisy Group" Magdy El Leisy
is teaching Classical Oriental
style
" Sharqi" as well as Egyptian folklore.
As a teacher
he is fun
personality with lots of energy.

KHALED
MAHMOUD
Khaled Mahmoud started his dance career in Egypt
as a dancer and teacher for egyptian
dance from many years back.
After moving to England a few years ago
he started to teach and perform
and is now often traveling to teach and perform worldwide.
Khaled is teaching and dancing the classical oriental "sharki"
dance with big grace
as well as the Egyptian folklore dance.

Tito
is an Egyptian folklore dancer, teacher and choreographer.
For the latest ten years he´s been working
as a folkloredancer and he has his
own folklore group that he is training, Tito oriental show
which is working together with him in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.
Recently he started to develope his style to more oriental "sharqi"
style with great passion. he is a very strong stage
personality and
is extremely talanted as a dancer.
He recently started to travel abroad for workshops,
Within a very short time he travelled
to many Countries all over the world.
He teaches the classical oriental
dance style
as well as the Egyptian folklore style.

NOUR
Nour was born in Moscow where she began
her studies of choreography
at the age of 8.
She was focused upon folk dances from Uzbeck,
Tadjick,
and Azerbaijan.At the age of 10,
Nour began performing on professional
stage,
mostly with eastern folk dances.When she was still only11,
Nour
was fortunate to meet Rina Dayal,
the legendary popular dancer in North
India.
Nour studied two classical Indian styles:
Bharat Natyam and Kathak,
as well as four folk styles.
Later on during on of her many tours Nour acquired an
old videotape
showing one composition of some Arabic dancer.
Belly dance became the
only and favorite dance for Nour.
This dance, having its own rules, was like the flight of a soul,
especially for one who sees dance as
art and not just personal exhibitionist
In 1994 Nour won first place in
first competition of belly-dance in
Mocsow,
Russia She began working abroad on contracts.
Nour danced in
many countries such as Jordan,
The Arab Emirates, Turkey, Greece, and
even Shri-Lanka.
Nours mother followed her in all her trips as
her best friend and administrator.
Between her tours Nour finished in
Moscow economic College
At present, Nour lives and works in Cairo since seven years.
She has
performed (in different years) almost in all of the 5-star hotels in Cairo,
but
her true concert activity in Egypt takes place at weddings.
Nour is
one of the most popular dancers in Egypt right now.
And she is the Vice-President of International assosiation of Artist in Egypt
and the leader of oriental dance in Association

LIZA LAZIZA
Liza
Laziza is originally Persian and was brought up
in the United Kingdom
since she was a child.
Liza has been dancing Internationally and for
the past
nearly 6 years is now based in Cairo,
Where she performs and
teaches.
Liza also travels all over the world for shows and workshops.
Liza fell in love with Arabic music when she was at
an Arab nightclub
in Paris some 20 years ago.
She is a self trained dancer but when she
came
to Cairo trained with Diyana for 3 years and learn choreography,
discipline and enriched her style even more.
Liza beleives it is not
just the Motion of the
dance but the Emotions that are more important.
She believes that understanding the music
and its meaning are just as
important
if not more important than the technique.
Liza has performed for the likes of Prince Charles,
George and Barbara
Bush, The Bruneis,
King and Queen of Malaysia and Ministers
and Diplomats
and international audiences all over the world.
Her recent private party
performance will
be for Prince Albert in Monaco in June 2005.
Liza is
presently dancing at the Meridien Pyramids hotel in Cairo.
Lizas style is very oriental and does all the
different styles from
Saidi, popular to classical to Khaleegy.
She believes it was her destiny
to be a dancer.

ASMAHAN
Asmahan is from Argentina and is from many years back working
as a professional dancer in Egypt
She is today one of the most famous dancers in Egypt.
She started studying classical ballett when she was 6 years old.
When she was 14 years old, she started studying Spanish and Flamenco
and when she was 16 she moved on to dance oriental dance.
Asmahan soon became a professional dancer
and has since then been working as a professional oriental dancer in Argentina and all over the world where she ´s been performing in five star hotels and for Royalties and diplomats.
She has been broadcasted in Tv and Media all over
the world and been cooperating with many famous artists.
She has been working as a dancer in Alexandria and in Cairo
in many five star hotels like Sheraton Montaza Cairo Sheraton, Meridien,
Semiramis Intercontinental, Conrad Hotel among many other hotels.
Nowadays apart from her work as a dancer in Egypt,
she is travelling to make shows in different European countries
{France, Switzerland, England, Ukraine Russia, Singapore in Asia, Argentina}
She has been teaching belly dancing the past few years.

LEILA
Leila
is an American born dancer who has been living
and working in Cairo for the last three years.
Currently dancing nightly under contract with
Semerameese-Intercontenental and Nile Pharon, she is
also a sought after performer for weddings and parties
throughout Cairo's five star hotels.
Leila has collaborated with many superstar singers
(Sameera Saeed, Hishem Abaz, Moustafa Amr,
Khalid Seleem, Ahkmed Fathi-to name a few)
performing oriental dance in live, televised concerts and video clips.
Along with dancing, Leila is a recognizable face on arabic
television having acted in numerouse commercials as
well as being featured on the cover of every major
fashion magazine in Egypt.
She recently made her
cinema debut where she acted and danced
in the blockbuster "Abu Araby Wasal."
Leila has also produced an oriental dance CD
"Helwa" and a video of
her Cairo show.

ZEINA
"Suzanne P Abou Shebika"
Zeina
has been dancing oriental dance since 1981.
Zeina is teaching classical
oriental as well as Egyptian f olklore dances.
She started to dance in Sweden 1981 and travelled
to
Egypt to learn more in the end of the eightes.
In 1990 she started to
as a professional dancer at the Safir Hotel
in Cairo during the stage
name Zeina,
She worked in Egypt at many
different five star hotel and Nightclubs
in
Cairo and Alexandria between 1990 - 1994.
Zeina came back to Sweden after four years in Egypt and opened
her own
dance school ( Egyptiskt Kulturcentrum )
with her husband Mohamed Abou Shebika.
The dance School is now one
of the biggest schools for oriental
dance in Europe with more than 600
students.
They have their own dance group "Nefertari"
which
often represents Egypt in many cultural events in Sweden.
Zeina and
Mohamed Abou Shebika is also organizing the annual
"Stockholm
Belly Dance Festival" since year 2000 in Sweden
as well as
they are are Co-organizers of the Nile Group.

NESMA
Nesma is a very famous dancer and teacher in Spain with
many years of experience in the oriental dance.
She has got her own dance school in Spain and
is a very established teacher and dancer there.
Nesma was working in Egypt in Cairo
for many years between 1993 - 1998
as a very popular bellydancer in many
five star hotels and nightclubs.
She was also one of the few foreign dancers in
The Reda Troupe for a long time and she use to assist Mr.
Mahmoud Reda during his workshops and tours.
She has also been broadcasted in Egyptian TV
with the Reda Troupe many times.
Nesma will teach for the first time at the
Nile Group festival in April 2007

NESRIN
Nesrin is an egyptian dancer and teacher
she started her carrer in 1993 in the Reda Troupe
She travelled all over the world with the Reda Troupe.
she is often assisiting Mr Mahmoud Reda during his workshops
in egypt and has been assisting him through the
previous Nile Group festivals. Now she is a soloist in the Reda Troupe.
She is also teaching in Egypt and abroad.
She was teaching at the Nile Group for the forst time in the
November festival 2006
after she is came back from Japan.

NAWAL BENABDALLAH
Nawal is a dancer, choreographer and teacher of Moroccan oriental dance
and she nourishes her love for the dance since childhood.
Her cultural, national and family inheritance is great,
and she is a true artistic link between North Africa and Machreq.
Nawal is deeply inspired by the artistic effervescence
of the fifties’ in Cairo, as well as by the modern development of the oriental dance today
and by the richness of the dance in her own country, Morocco.
Since 1992, Nawal teaches Moroccan oriental dance in Paris.
She also devotes herself to spreading her art through
the dance training courses that she leads in Paris,
in the countryside and abroad (Morocco, U.S.A., Europe).
She created the oriental dance association
“Les Amis de Nawal” (“The Friends of Nawal”) in 1990,
and she founded her company “Nawal BENABDALLAH” in 1991.
Her meeting with the great Egyptian choreographer
Mahmoud Reda in 1991 was the beginning
of a close collaboration between them for ten years.
The pedagogy and the style of this master
resembled her own ideal in teaching this art.
In order to pay tribute to him, she presented her show
“Memoires” both in Paris, in the Parisian region and in Morocco.
“Memoires” was centred on Egypt, Andalusia and Morocco.
In 1997 Nawal participated in a number of shows and films
shootings together with the Reda Troupe in Cairo.
To create her Moroccan repertoire Nawal gets inspiration
from dances from different Moroccan regions and she lets them develop on stage,
thus participating in conserving this rich patrimony.
In 1994, on the occasion of Women’s Day,
she presented her show “Autour de l’Atlas” (“Around the Globe”)
at the Institute of the Arab World in Paris.
Nawal has often been invited to Moroccan and French television
and in 1999 she made a creation for France 2 in the programme
“Vivement Dimanche”, presented by Michel Drucker
in the honour of Elisabeth Guigou, minister of justice

Dalia is a dancer from Cairo.
She is currently a dancer in the famous Reda Troupe
and has been working with them for many years.
She is concidered as one of the
best dancers in the Reda Troupe.
She is teaching egyptian folklore dance

Dalia is a new teacher at the Nile Group
Festivals from 2006.

HESHAM SALEH
Hesham started his work
as hobbyist dancer in the
cultur houses in 1972 to 1978.
He has also
collaborated in most of the culture shows.
He was working as a professional
dancer in The Reda Troupe in 1980
He also worked with the famous belly dancer Mona El Said
and Nagwa Foaad
from 1986 to 1990.
He collaborated in a lot of international
festivals during 1980 until 2004 in
many different countries.
He worked in Japan for "Twist" as open class teacher.
Hesham traveled around the world several times to present
alot of artistic
works as well as
Egyptian TV & Theater as a dancer & choreographer.
He received diplomas from Korea & Spain, several medals,
Certificate
of appreciation from
England & The Ministry of Culture in Egypt.
He got a lot of experience during the service period at
The Ministry
of culture as a professional dancer,
assistant trainer, trainer,
artistic
secretariat works, artistic supervisor,
he was the vice director of
The Reda troupe
during the general directors travelings..

MOHAMED KAZAFY
Mohamed Kazafy has been dancing with the
world famous Reda troupe of Egypt for 17 years.
After initially training with the troupe's founder
Mahmoud Reda, & The legendary
principle female dancer Farida Fahmy,
he went on to perform with the Reda Troupe in dozens of countries
worldwide. Mohamed Kazafy remains one of their principal soloists.
He is available as a teacher and dancer in Egypt and abroad.
He travelled to teach in many different Countries for example lately:
Germany, Sweden and England.

OUSAMA EMAM
Ousama
Emam is
a Teacher and Director of the Kaoumeya
Troupe for egyptian folklore dance.

China The Arab World among other Countries.
Some of the most previous dance festivals he taguht in was:
The Stockholm Belly Dance Festival in Sweden, In Germany at
"The Stuttgart Festival and The Dusseldorf Festival"
Ousama also have his own dance group for
folklore dance in Egypt called "Layali El Sharq"
Which you can see perform in boats and hotels all over Egypt.
The group is also presented at the Nile Group parties.

FEKRY
Ahmed Fekry is originally
from Egypt now living in Germany.
He started his career as an Egyptian folklore dancer.
He was also a member of The Reda School.
He is now teaching oriental as well as folklore.
Ahmed was working with many folklore
groupes in Egypt before moving
to Germany.
In Germany he is teaching and performing
and often traveling
to many different countries
for workshops for example lately Sweden,
Brazil, Norway,
Russia, and Egypt in the Nile Group Festival.

Sameh
is born in Cairo.
He has been dancing Egyptian Folklore for
about 25 years. He started as a folklore
dancer and was working with
many different dance groups in Egypt.
He have also been working with
Egyptian Theater and TV.
Now he is living and working in Russia,
Moscow
where he has his own dance
school for oriental dance.
Sameh is often
travelling to
many different countries for
workshops and festivals.

Career: artistic supervisor
Education: B.D in physcial education.
Mona Moustafa is originally from Cairo in Egypt.
She started her dance career as a dancer in
REDA Troupe for folklore dance .
She get her first step from the Master Mahmoud Reda ”
The father of oriental dance in Egypt” and Mrs. FARIDA FAHMY.
She received diplomas, Certificate of appreciation
and several medals from many countries as a professional dancer.
She was performing Egyptian Folklore Dances and solo Dances for many years with
the
REDA Troupe as a professional dancer since 1987 till now .
After many years of touring with REDA Troupe she visited all the
world and she is make her won name by 28 years of
experience in folklore and oriental dance.
She is artistic supervisor for REDA Troupe
since year 2004 unttil now.
Mona is a n ew teacher at the Nile Group festival from April 2007

From Libanon
Gaby Shiba is Libanese famous dancer, choreographer and dance master
He studied Classical ballett and modern and dramatic art in Paris and London
He has his own dance group that mixes oriental dance with folklore,
modern dance and ballett
Gaby Shiba performed all over the world and in
Libanon and many different Countries in the Arab world
he made many different TV Shows.In 1994 he participated in the best
Ramadan Tv programme in Cairo
"El Fawazir" together with famous artists like: Samir sabry, Samah Anwar and others
he have allready opened 3 different dance schools in Beirut cairo and Bahrein
Gaby Shiba is a new teacher in the Nile Group from June 2007

Olfat Hassan is born in Cairo
She has been working with egyptian
dance since 1979.
She started in the Reda Troup and has since 1979
been travelling all the world.

Nabil Mabruk, Hassan El Sobky, Ez Elden,
Hamada Hossam Elden,
Hassan Afifi, Mohamed Sobky and others
